Justice The Hard Way

Just had this piece in a wild art/modern spectacle show called 'Impulse'(www.flickr.com/photos/knewart) last week. Wild night indeed. Great event except the artists and our art weren't treated well. Bad lighting, my art could hardly be seen. Art "hung" and/or placed at random, at the last minute. I had to rent a truck to get all of my art there for the event (a one nighter), didn't finish unloading and to bed til 330 in the morning. Had to return the rental truck at 9am the next day (2 buses to get back home). Hungover and exhausted. Couldn't make it to work. So, I didn't sell anything (not expected for that kind of event). The art wasn't given sufficent lighting nor placement and I lost money participating. Ah, the life of the artist.

Mixed media: Oil and acrylic paint, photo collage, electronic parts, string, wood, flashing light on strechted canvas and wood.

The Eleventh Finger

Worked feverishly to finish this for the 'Impulse' show (www.flickr.com/photos/knewart)...too bad the lighting was so bad (dark) that no one could see the details of the piece. Ah well, live and learn. It was still a very fun, exciting and exhausting night. The fun is in the doing.
